Are you documenting all of Your Sales with Sales Receipt?

Sales receipt is a paper document having all the records of sales whether it is on daily, weekly or monthly basis. If it is computerized then it is good because it has both income and expense accounts. Whenever you need to check the previous records you can easily check by entering the date and month. Usually sales receipt consists of essential information like the name of company, its logo, contact information, item's details, date, time of transaction, seller's name, customer's name and others. At the bottom of every sales receipt there is an important section without whom the receipt is incomplete, it is about the subtotal, inclusion of taxes and grand total. The process of purchasing is completed when the initials are taken by the seller and customer.

Usually some receipts are voided and in such case the relevant company is responsible for correcting the mistakes and keeps it clear from errors. It is necessary to remove all the mistakes and make it authentic and accurate. The person is responsible to amend the receipt before transacting and handed it to customer.

Keep this document on a safe place. Customer and seller both should have their receipts as records. Sometimes you want to exchange any product or find something wrong in receipt then you can easily claim by using this receipt. The seller wills also co operate when you will have strong proof in the shape of receipt. Similarly the document works like a legal proof. Always demand for sales receipt because It can help you in future. Keep this point in mind that always checks your receipt before paying the amount.

This document should contain basic information and filled it out by entering the names of seller and customer and their contact information. The seller writes the details of items along with their prices and at the end the prices are calculated in order to give grand total. Both the customer and seller sign the receipt and have their copies as record and proof.
